Oporto presents Toby Noble (Acoustic Quartet) EP Launch + Joe & Tracey + Charlie McKeon Weds 30th November - 7:30 doors Oporto - £5 OTD --------------------- Toby Noble is a guitarist and composer based in the english city of Leeds. Toby’s music evokes the folk sounds, crisp air and burnished tones of his rural upbringing, melded with the vibrancy and forward motion of his urban surroundings. Toby performs his creations in both a stunning solo guitar set and with his ambitious chamber folk ensemble, the Toby Noble Acoustic Quartet. The Toby Noble Acoustic Quartet is a creative folk band and the latest vehicle for Toby’s finessed melodic compositions. Featuring the delicate and intricate arrangements of Toby’s earlier work, combined with the expansive sound and driving rhythms of a band, the Acoustic Quartet brings a vivid edge to Toby’s music. The band enlists the talents of Katy Ryder (Flute/Whistles), Evan Davies (Mandolin) and Sam Quintana (Double Bass) who each bring their compositional ideas to the ensemble. http://tobynoble.co.uk/ -------------------------- Joe and Tracey draw on their love of Jazz, Folk, Soul and World music to bring you a collection of originals and re-worked favorites. Expect rich vocal harmonies, flute and syncopated rhythms. A light sense of humor and positive relaxing vibes. "Musical Morphine" - Dariush Kanani ( Acoustic musician) "That machine(Flute) gave me magical visions" - Slightly drunk man in Barnsley "You're really soothing, my heart rate went down and I stopped sweating and swearing!" - Friendly lady in Leeds ------------ A singer-songwriter from Liverpool, Charlie McKeon plays colourful original music, alongside unique interprations of traditional Folk songs from Ireland and America. His guitar playing has been likened to the Celtic style of Paul Brady, as well as that of Nick Drake.
