“They’ve penned a fierce set of songs”
Manchester Evening News
Larkins will release Wasted Years on 17th February through Scruff of the Neck Records.
When Manchester’s Larkins started 2016 by hitting the ground running, no-one could have predicted the year they’d end up having. A summer of festival appearances at the likes of Kendal Calling, as well as a sold out show at Manchester’s Club Academy saw the band rapidly made a name for themselves amongst both fans and critics alike; turning heads and winning fans wherever they went. Now shortlisted by the MEN as one of the City’s Best Breakthrough Artists, and with their biggest show to date rapidly approaching, it seems they’ve started 2017 with an even bigger bang, and with even more confidence. Something that’s evident on the four-piece’s latest single, ‘Wasted Years’. Building on the effortless freneticism of their previous singles, ‘Wasted Years’ is both angular and fluid and marks a new progression in the band’s seemingly limitless creativity. Far from the typical masculine posturing of much of Manchester’s indie output, Larkins are a breath of fresh air in a scene in danger of stagnation. http://www.lunatickets.co.uk/event/larkins/oporto/1090113
