We are very pleased to bring to you, our very own monthly happening; 'Shadowlark present... Contact.' For one night each month, we'll be commandeering 'the good ship' Oporto, Call Lane, Leeds and playing with some of our favourite local and not so local artists, chosen especially by us. The first one's gonna be on Wednesday 30th January and is extra special, as we'll all be celebrating Independent Venue Week 2019 too. Exhibit A: Very Large Array; feat. Shadowlark / The Silver Reserve / Lazy Day (solo) // *Lazy Day (solo)* Earlier this year we shared some tour dates with a band called Lazy Day. We loved them, so we asked Tilly to come and open the first night for us... Lazy Day began life in 2014 as the solo bedroom project of Tilly Scantlebury. Self-recording her tracks on Garageband and making them available online, she quickly gained attention and praise from respected music websites and blogs. Their debut EP 'Ribbons' was released in September 2017 and was played by Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq and Gideon Coe on BBC 6 Music. -- -- *The Silver Reserve* One of our favourite moments of Bluedot Festival 2017 was sitting in the sun watching TSR, just great... Matthew Sturgess, who performs as 'The Silver Reserve', plays delicate, sparse music on a classical guitar with songs about out-of-body experiences, monogamy, small-town community Facebook pages and much more. Backed by his band they create dense, layered atmospherics around the tender songs at their core. It's music that doesn't rush and takes its sweet, sad time to unfurl and sneak under the skin. -- -- *Shadowlark* And there'll be us... -- -- Doors open at 7:30pm and tickets are £5adv. You can find them here, among other places: We hope you'll join us from the start, gotta catch the right atmosphere ;) Big love Ellen, Chris and James x x x
