Alto45 single launch
Just Handshakes (we're British), Alto45 & ALASKA

8pm - 11pm

Alto 45 celebrate the release of our new single "I Will Not Lose You To The Sea" with a cast of quirky indie pop...

Clara, Michael, Edward and Jim live in Leeds and play indie pop music. They've supported the likes of Mystery Jets, Pete and the Pirates, Shout Out Louds and Still Corners and we thought it about time they played a headline show for us. What with having also performed a live session for Marc Riley and received airplay from Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson. Having just finished recording their debut album which will be out soon expect big things!

Norwich based laboratory dwelling nob twiddlers influenced by the likes of Bill Drummond, Delia Derbyshire and Simon Armitage. Also recent session guests for Mark Riley on 6 music, their new single has been getting a lot of radio attention, they've picked a stellar cast for this their Leeds launch.

Leeds based ALASKA create high-energy, psychedelic garage rock with a B-movie surf-pop twist. Telling tall tales of egg-stealing reptiles, drowned cowboys and prodigiously gifted skateboarders. ALASKA are a band of magnetic polar opposites: of melody and noise, surrealism and sentiment, visceral visuals and a compellingly kaleidoscopic sonic vision.

An audacious festival debut at Green Man 2012 was bookended by scintillating hometown support slots with 2:54 and Cate Le Bon at Brudenell Social Club – the latter earning noteworthy praise on BBC 6Music.
